William settled on Turnback Creek, Green Co., MO. This later became Lawrence Co. It is reported that William's nephew Shadrack Williams Stephens and family later joined them at this location in the early 1840s (not. verified). A marriage by a William Williams to Anna Copeland is shown in marriage records, but it is unknown whether it is the correct William Williams.
