- William had a family Bible in which the birthdates of four sons is recorded. The Bible then picks up with Elijah's family. There is a possibility that William had a daughter born about 1786. [based on what?]
- 27 Mar 1847, Moses and Elijah, who were sons of William, and a Mary Ann Walter transferred some land to John Walters [oldest son of John Walters and Sara Hudson]. This evidently was Walters land to which all were heirs. (See Historical Southern Families - Mrs. John Bennett Boddie - 1971.)
- J. Durant Walters, deceased, formerly of Charlotte wrote a book about the Walters Family.
- There is a Walters Family file in the Monroe, NC Library that contains many notes and documents of the late Col. Louis E. Hicks.
