    Notes for WILLIAM TRENT:
    Notes for WILLIAM TRENT II:
William Trent, II, lived in Chesterfield County until at least 1761, when he sold his 75 acres on Tomahawk Creek to his brother, Benjamin. William and Benjamin served in the Colonial militia, as evidenced by a Oct. 22, 1760, court-martial at which each is fined.

Barbara R. Marsh writes that William Trent appears to have moved to Henry County before the Revolutionary War, probably in the company of Isham and Hudson Blankenship (or Blankinship), who left Chesterfield at the same time and went to Bedford County and then to Henry County. Hudson Blankenship's son's Revolutionary War pension application states he was born in Chesterfield County and moved to Bedford County before the war. The section of Henry County where they settled became Franklin County in 1785.

William and his family moved from Franklin to Russell County and by 1799 had relocated to Hawkins County, Tenn., where William Trent and his son, Williamson, signed a petition for the creation of a new county.
