    William Garland Thompson, 65, of Rt. 2, Snow Camp, was dead on arrival at Alamance County Hospital Tuesday after suffering an apparent heart attack.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late L. L. and Belle Wicker Thompson. He was a retired carpenter and a member and trustee of Cane Creek Friends Meeting.
    He is survived by his widow. Mrs. Ida Mae Dunn Thompson; five brothers, Harlan L. and Arnel L. Thompson, both of Snow Camp, Edward A. Thompson of Graham, Finley M. Thompson of Virginia Beach, Va., and J. P. Thompson of Greensboro.
    Final rites will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Cane Creek Friends Meeting by the Rev. Hadley Robertson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    The body will remain at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
    The family will, receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
