William Tebben was born to John and Dora (Philiph) Tebben on October 9, 1890 in Remson, Iowa. He spent his early years in Remsen. In 1904 or early 1905 the family moved to a farm in Chanarambie Township, Murray County, Minnesota where the family was enumerated in the State of Minnesota Census in mid-June 1905. After growing to manhood in Minnesota, William farmed for several years in Plymouth County, Iowa. William's June 5, 1917 World War I Draft Registration card shows he was single and self-employed as a farmer in Chanarambie Township. William entered military service October 23, 1918 and trained at Camp Cody, a U.S. Army facility located on the northwest side of Deming, New Mexico. A Private in Company G, 131st Infantry, 33rd Division, William died November 4, 1918, at Camp Cody, of influenza. References
