From the Symington FH issue 7 "From his death certificate his father is named as John Symington, occupation - corn miller. The mother's name is not known unfortunately. This means that he is brother of John and David. However, I suspect that his mother is not the same. There is a record of John Symington marrying Jean Thomson in Dec 1795 in Fenwick.". issue 10 The following section is by Roger Cooling Haerr, Grand-son of Lydia Cooling. Lydia died on 21st January, aged 96. Lydia came from the 'Fleckney' Family line - which links into the family of William and Janet Howieson of Loudoun and Fenwick in Scotland. A separate site is dedicated to Symington name research.
