George Weedon's mother married William Strother sometime before 1743 (date of Nathaniel Gray's will).

Strother died in February 1750 and later Weedon would acquire some of Strother's land on the bank opposite his own on Rozier Creek.

George would have grown up with three step- or half-sisters--Sarah, Margaret and Patty -- and two half-brothers James and William Strother

Weedon had an attachment to William Strother (eldest so of William Sr.) as he left him lands in his will.
