Snodgrass, William - born 5/10/1760 in Frederick County (area later Berkeley County), Virginia; resided during Revolutionary War in Washington County, Virginia, where he entered service 1775 & 1776 in Virginia regiment; received Pension 1832 in Sullivan County, Tennessee; James Smith & Edward Smith made affidavit 1833 in Washington County, Virginia, they borh served there with soldier in Revolutionary War, per County Justice of the Peace Robert Stewart; George Gamble made affidavit there then; Michael Henon made affidavit there then he served in Revolutionary War with Soldier in 1779, per County court clerk David Campbell; query letter in file 1923 from descendant Sarah. H. (Mrs. C. Latimer) Callander of San Francisco, California; query letter in file says soldier's son James was also Revolutionary War soldier; query letter in file in 1934 from Miss Hallie Snodgrass, Sparta, Tennessee, says she was a descendant of soldier's brother Maj. James Snodgrass, who was born 10/31/1762, married Ann Long, & took part in Battle of Kings Mountain. F-S-none, R2241.
