WILL:
Dated June 13, 1671: The Last Will & Testament of William Smyton living in Portsmouth who at ye present being very weak but in perfect memory and having Desire to set his house in order upon y' Consideration I do ordain & appoint my well beloved wife Sarah Smyton to be my whole and sole Executrix. Therefore I do give full power to my sd Wife Sarah to enjoy & possess all my proper and Real Estate during her Natural Life in ye world whether moveable or Immoveables as houses Lands Chattles or Cattle and also Debts due unto me from any person whatsoever. Also my Will is that my wife is to pay all Just and Legal Debts that is due from me to others. Also my Will and desire is after the said Death of my said Wife the Estate then remaining undisposed of to my Children as my wife shall see cause. Also my Will and desire is that my trusty and well beloved friends William Baulston in Portsmouth and Francis Brinley in Newport to be an assistant to my sd Executrix in matters that may be dubious to her as necessity may require.
