One source of information (unkown reliability) is the "Sebring Collections", compiled by Walter Wilson Sebring and John Cletus Sebring from 1908 to 1967, published in 1975 and reprinted in 2002. Page 66 of this source states that William H. was born in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. He was inducted into Company F of the 59th Illinois Infantry, Regiment of Volunteers. The book (page 66) lists the induction as taking place in Hazel Dell, Cumberland County, Illinois. The book also lists the induction date as 22 July 1861. He served three years in the Civil war in company F of the 59th Illinois Regiment of volunteers. According to his discharge papers, he had fair complexion and grey eyes, and was a farmer when he enlisted. After his discharge he relocated with wife Hannah to Arkansas, where they both died two years later.
