Pg 31: "William Rothwell, only child of Richard Rothwell of Skryne and Mary, married Anne Bagnall on 29th July, 1769, dau. of Richard and Anne Bagnall of Hawkinstown, Piercetown, Co. Meath (see pp. 23,25 for Bagnall family). Their marriage settlement is reproduced in Plate opposite. William continued to live for some years on the Pg 32: "estate which had come to him through his father and had once been in the possession of the Phepoe family for many years. "In 1781, he was executor for his father-in-law Richard Bagnall. Shortly after 1781 William left Skryne and lived at Newtown, Co Dublin, another property which had been left to him by his father. "In 1783 de disposed of his interests in the Newtown property and moved to Aughifarrel, Co. Wicklow, where he lived till 1790. In that year he disposed also of this property and moved to Swordlestown, Co. Kildare, adjacent to the present Punchestown Race Course, (not known now by this name, it was marked in the Downe Survey of the Cromwellian Settlement as Shurdellstown; "Gowran Grange" now stands there.) In the meantime (1788) he had been in possession of certain properties in Wine Tavern Street and Wood Quay in the City of Dublin, which he sold in 1793."
