Oma Dellion Harrison was born September 21, 1856, and died September 26, 1890, and is buried in the Glasgow Cemetery.

The following is an excerpt of a book written by Shelley Riherd on the Riherd family: About one year after his marriage, William Durham Riherd purchased ten acres of land from C. L. Hill and wife, Rilla E. Hill, and C. T. Cheek and wife, Valeria Cheek, on October 23, 1875. This land was located on the Glasgow-Bowling Green Road (now U. S. 68-80 approximate location), and adjoined a Gardner and the Glasgow Railroad. Consideration: $200.00. (Deed Book 10, page 566, Barren County). In 1881, it appears William had been engaged in sawing lumber for some time at Bradford's Mill, (formerly called Myers Mill) near Glasgow. He purchased from William J. Bradford and wife, MARY A. 1/3 Interest in a saw mill and the deed States: "2/3 interest in a steam mill is owned by William D. Riherd which is in good running condition at the said William J. Bradford Mill on Beaver Creek." The real estate purchased was known as the Myers Mill tract and adjoined Brice King, the Glasgow-Munfordville Road, the old mill dam, T. C. Dickerson and Slaughter, crossed Beaver Creek and went down the mill reace. (The deed has exact directions and distances) NOTE: (This mill site is located about 1 mile north of my present home on Lexington Drive, (known as the Munfordville Road outside the city limits.) The old mill race is still intact and passes through a large culvert under the Munfordville Road, the old mill dam still exists without any serious deterioration. The land purchased in this deed is in part, now owned by Marion Bradford, a William J. Bradford descendant, and my adjoining neighbor. The remainder is owned and is the home of Buell Steenbergen, all on Route 7, Glasgow, Ky.) (Deed Book 17, page 142, OCBCC). On October 1, 1883, William D. Riherd purchased more land which adjoined the above mill tract from Brice King in above deed). This tract also fronted the Munfordville Road and Beaver Creek and was a part of the former J. E. Parrish land. Consideration: $150.47 paid and promissory note for $14.50. (Deed Book 19, page 325. OCBBCC). Note: This real estate and mill site is located approximately 2 miles northeast of the Jesse Lewis 257 acre tract, both being on Beaver Creek. Could the purchase of the Buford Mill site by Jesse in 1869 have been to eliminate other possible competition? The farm of Jesse Thomas adjoined the Ruben Harrison on the south and the Bradford farm adjoins it on the northeast. The Harrison farm was, until recently, owned by Jack and Vivian Rousseau, and the home still stands. Most of the farm has been developed. The name of a son, Bradford Riherd, was no doubt because of the William J. Bradford family. William and his brothers and sisters worked very hard after they were without a father on June 9, 1870. the children were under age when their father died, and their mother was appointed their guardian in Barren County. The real estate in both Barren and Monroe counties was sold through court at considerable expense because of the minors' interest. William purchased the Monroe County tract and then sold off smaller tracts. As the oldest son, he was apparently forced into the role of transacting the family business while quite young. In an action in the Barren Circuit Court, Flem Harrison v. Lucy Harrison, an order was entered in November of 1899, directing the Master Commissioner to sell the Harrison farm of 148 acres. It was purchased at auction on January 15, 1900, by Flem Harrison for $300.00. Apparently, Rueben Harrison had died prior to this time, and both William D. and Omadillion were deceased and left their children as heirs in the Harrison home place. William D's children inherited this property from the Harrison family. The papers in the lawsuit have been misfiled or lost; however, the deed lists the heirs in the Harrison estate as follows: Clarence Riherd, Effie Riherd, Bradford Riherd, Eliza Riherd, Ruby Riherd, Genie and Ira Haynes, Betty Settle and Richard Settle, Lewis Riherd, Millie V. Harrison. The first eight are the children of Omadillion Harrison and William D. Riherd; however, the remaining eight Harrisons could be sisters and brothers of Omadillion or her neices and nephews of a deceased brother or sister. Further research could establish this. CHILDREN: Lewis, James Clarence, Bradford, Eliza Frank, Effie, Betty, Eugenia (Jeanie), Ruby, Flem, born 10/1888, died 12/1889 buried Glasgow Cemetery.
