Newspaper Obituary - in part:

"William August Richter was born at Fort Wayne, Indiana. When he was 5, the family moved to Harmon, Wisconsin. His father, Wilhlem, was a teacher.

"At age 13 yrs, his parents moved to a farm three miles north of Lewiston, near Silo, where they cleared 10 acres of farmland.

"William Richter married Caroline Stellwagen (Sister of Tanta Eda who married Uncle Willie Stellwagen) on Nov. 18, 1880. They lived on the home farm until 1912 when they moved to Lewiston. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1930.

"He is survived by sister Mrs. Herman Joemecke of Aberdeen, South Dakota and a brother, Fred, in Chicago."


Wilhelm's first wife died after baring three children (Willaim was 9). Wilhelm then married Appolina.

William died Jan. 25, 1932, a few weeks after grandson, Eldor Richter, was born on Jan. 6 to Herman and Augusta Richter.
