Personal History

William Pelham of London, “equitis fil.” (Esq.), matriculated from New College, Oxford, entry on 15 June 1582, then aged 14 (born about 1568).[3]

On 18 August 1588, William Pelham, son and heir of Sir William Pelham of Newstead, Lincolnshire, was admitted to Gray's Inn.[4]

William was knighted by King James I on 23 April 1603 at Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire.[2]
