According to the 1900 US Census William had moved in with his son George and his wife Mary. Probably means that Jemima had died by this time. William was living in Screven Co in the 1850 Census with his wife Jimima, and 5 children and his mother Mary aged 75.

On Aug. 20, 1894 William sold to his youngest son George Newton lll, 100 acres of land known as the "House Tract."
