    WILLIAM MOSSER DEAD
Retired Business Man Passed Away Here Last Night

Mr. William Mosser, aged 77 years, former soldier and retired business man, died at his home 620 west Second street, last night, at 9 o'clock after an illness of several years.

Fifteen years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis and since that time he had been in failing health. He did not become seriously ill however, until last Sunday evening when he became bedfast.

Mr. Mosser was born in Pittsburgh, but came to the Carmel neighborhood of Trimble county, Kentucky as a boy where he lived until he was married to Miss Ella King, of this county, 35 years ago. He came to this city after his marriage and for many years he operated The Grand hotel on Main street. The building is now occupied by W. H. Anger, plumber.

On leaving Madison, he went to Indianapolis to live and for 25 years he traveled for the John Deere farming equipment company. His wife died twelve years ago and four years later he married his wife's sister, Mrs. Martha Sherman. Mr. Mosser and his family then returned to this city where he had lived a quiet life for the last eight years.

He was a former soldier and was well known throughout the local community as well as in Trimble county. He was a brother to the late Stephen Mosser, who lived on a farm in the Carmel neighborhood in Trimble county until his death, a few years ago.

Surviving besides his widow, Mrs. Martha Sherman Mosser, is a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Stanley, by his first wife, who lives at Columbus, O.; several nieces and nephews, and a sister, Mrs. Clara Alexander of Carmel.

Mr. Mosser was a member of the Presbyterian church, having taken his membership at Indianapolis and he was a gentleman of sterling character.

The daughter, Mrs. Stanley, was expected to arrive here sometime today and funeral arrangements were not made pending her arrival.
