Land records in Cumberland Co show William and Barbara Morrow. They also owned a stone Inn in chambersburg where George Washington stayed over on his way to quelle the Whiskey Rebellion circa 1790. William and Barbara lost a lot of money probably either in George Washington's Potomac Canal venture or James Rumsey's steam boat venture and lost the inn. COL John and LT Charles Morrow were in on this too. William and Barbara moved to Pittsburg where they ran the Sign of the Green Tree Tavern in downtown Pittsburg.

Daughters: Mary (Molly) Morrow married John McDonald of Pittsburg, a lawyer and businessman. They appear to have had at least two children, a daughter and a son Zantzinger McDonald a prominent, if controversial, newspaper publisher in Pittsburg. Nancy Morrow married James Crossan who with his two sons operated various hotels and businesses in Pittsburg.

DNA Findings

A descendant of William's matches somewhat distantly descendants of George Morrow m. Mary Calhoun. The match is 23/25, about a 52% chance of a common ancestor in the last 12 generations if no further "in-between" lines are found.

Also matches Thomas Morrow born 1797 who married Matilda Blair. Said to be related to Governor of Ohio Jeremiah Morrow. Thomas & Matilda were the parents of Doctor Lafayette Blair Morrow. The Governor's father was a MURRAY.

Alternatively, Thomas Morrow b. 1797 could be the missing son of William Morrow and Barbara Ann Zantzinger. DNA DOES match to descendants of William & Barbara = Edwin Porch Morrow.

Also matches 25/25 and 35/37 DNA profile of William Murray born 1914 family of Selkirkshire Scotland descended from family of Murray of Philiphaugh and related to Adam Murray defended of Londonderry.
