Idaho Statesman, August 16, 1946, p. 10 MCLAIN -- William Hurles McLain, 75, of 521 Latah street died at his home Thursday evening. Mr. McLain was born in Jackson County, Mo., on Aug. 20, 1870. He had been a resident of Boise for two years. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Iona of Boise; one daughter, Mrs. Edith A. Lewis of Boise; five sons, Robert L., Franklin D., William D., and David D. all of Boise and Thomas R. McLain of Corpus Christi, Texas; four brothers, Edward of Lamar, Colo., Thomas of Perryton, Texas, Frank of Paulsbo, Wash., and Gus McLain of Muskegon, Mich; also 11 grandchildren. Services are being arranged at the McBratney-Fowler chapel. (This birth site is different than what David Leonard McLain's family Bible says. Jackson County would be the Kansas City area.)
