Obituary from the Idaho Statesman, March 27, 1988, p. 2C Robert Lee McLain 

  Robert Lee McLain, 92, of 320 Collins Road, Boise, died Wednesday, March 23, 1988, in a Boise hospital.
  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 28, at the Relyea Funeral Chapel.  Pastor Orvil E. Stiles, chaplain of the Idaho Veterans Home, will officiate.  Burial will follow in Morris Hill Cemetery.
  Mr. McLain, a retired Boise Parks Department employee, was born Aug. 15, 1895, at Lagrange, Ind., a son of William H. and Carrie I. Newell McLain.  He was raised on the famiy farms in Indiana, Wisconsin and Oklahoma.  Robert entered the U.S. Army in 1918, and served during World War I in France.  He received an honorable discharge in June of 1919.
  Following the service, he returned to the family farm.  Shortly thereafter, he married Ollie Serena Ewing on March 17, 1921, in Rapaho County, Okla.  They farmed for many years in Oklahoma and Texas before moving to Boise in 1941 where he had since resided.  He worked for the Boise Parks Department in Boise until his retirement.  In 1946, his wife, Ollie, suffered heart problems which led to her death.  He married Molly Monteria on Feb. 2, 1948.  She died in 1968.  In 1976, after many years of living alone, Mr. McLain sold his home and moved to the Idaho Veterans Home.
  Robert enjoyed music, and played the violin.  Every Sunday afternoon he would serenade the Idaho Veterans Home staf and residents with violin music.
  Survivors include two daughters, Eva O. Gaul of Portland, Ore., and Cleo A. McLain of Seattle; two brothers, Deo McLain and Denzil McLain, both of Boise; a sister, Edith Lewis of Boise; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his two wives, his parents, a son and two brothers also died earlier.
