Obituary "BUDDY" LYNAM William Melvin Lynam, better known as "Buddy" was born in Grenola on March 9, 1924, and departed this life November 28, 1935, age 11 years, 8 months and 19 days. He was the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lynam, his father preceded him in death a few years ago. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Ella Lynam, three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Wonser, Clara McMillen, Wichita, and Iva Lynam of Grenola; and a brother, Bob, of CCC Camp at Handington, Nebraska; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie McKain of Borger, Texas, and grandmother, Mrs. Mary Lynam of Columbus, Ohio, and many other relatives. A family Thanksgiving dinner was being served at the Cleve Roberts home two miles west of town. The men had eaten their dinner and were at the barn, the children were in the other room playing, the women were eating when the report of a gun was heard; they rushed to the room and found Buddy lying on the floor, dying in a few minutes. Mr. Roberts had hid the gun but the children found it and in the scuffle, it was discharged the bullet entering the heart of Buddy. Buddy will be missed by everyone as he was a friendly sociable lad who made friends with all. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church with Rev. A. M. Dixon in charge, assisted by Rev. Durham. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
