I just read your account of the Lowe family in Maryland at genealogy.com. I can trace my family back to my ggggg-grandmother, Elizabeth Dudly Lowe 1752-1831 of Baltimore, supposedly the daughter of a William Lowe. Elizabeth married John Ludwig Harmonni/Hermanni in 1772. Do you think there is a connection between my Elizabeth and your Williams?

I have read in "The Magee Family" by R.A. Stevenson (Elizabeth's dau. married a Magee) that the Lowe's of Baltimore were direct descendants of John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland. Do you have any information on that?

The only "concrete" link I have is this passage from page 12 of The Mag Family by Robert Ashley Stevenson: "...the Lowes are descended from John Dudley who was the Duke of Northumberland, and the father-in-law of Lady Jane Grey. One branch of this family emigrated to Maryland and from this family Elizabeth Lowe of Baltimore was descended." I have also noticed from reading queries in the Lowe family forum that there are a lot of Lowe ancestors (Maryland) whose names or middle names were Dudley--a lot of John Dudley Lowe's, even. Supposedly, my own Elizabeth Lowe's middle name was "Dudly."
