- Last Will of Daniel Johnson Low
- In the name of God Amen. I Daniel Johnson Low of Hancock County and State of Georgia being weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, to mind, the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and Ordain this my last will and testament that is to say, first of all I give and Recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and My body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent christian christian burial, at the discretion of my Executor, nothing doubting, but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power Of God, and as touching my worldly Estate when it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give Demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form, to wit:
- I will unto my beloved wife Elizabeth - over Four negroes namely Dick, Alsen _____? Sally, Nan, little Dick, and their increase. During her natural life or widowhood As also all my household and kitchen furnnature and my mares and colts, all which I trust to my said wife Elizabeth during Her life or widowhood-----------
- I give and bequeath unto my Son William Low, five shillings sterling and no more to him and his heirs forever.______ (* "unto my Son William Low" and "no more" was underlined)
- Then I give and bequeath unto my _ Grandson Daniel Low the remainder of my negroes namely Ben, ____?, Daniel, Suck, Poll, and Forest, with all My debts that is outstanding and due Me in any manner whatever and at the death or marriage of my said wife Elizabeth my will and desire is that My said grandson Daniel Low shall Have in his own right all and every part of the property that I have herein lent to my said wife Elizabeth all which I give to him my said grandson Daniel Low his heirs and assignn_ forever__
