From Mary Barnes (mearsm2@@earthlink.net): In 1658, a William Lowe was transported to Maryland. 1683, Samuels Delight surveyed for Samuel Sicklemore between 1706-1725 in possession of John Taylor and John Lowe, poss. son of Wm. Sr. Wm. Lowe, Sr. progenotor of Baltimore County, Maryland by 1702, wife Rebecca Wm. Lowe, Sr. d. by 15 June 1719, when John Lowe with William Lowe, Jr. and Thomas Norris posted administrative bond. Wm. rendered his rights to administer to John Lowe, his brother. John Lowe renders acct of Wm. Lowe, Sr. est May 9, 1721.
4 Nov 1707 - Marcum citing Baltimore County MD land deed records (Liber HW, No. B, folio 49): Garvis Gilbert purchased a tract of land located on the head of the middle branch of the Bush River in North Gunpowder Hundred, Baltimore County MD from William Lowe and his wife Rebecca. According to Marcum this was the homestead of Garvis throughout his life. According to Davis (Baltimore County Land Records Vol RM:561-562), Garvis Gilbert paid 5000 pounds of tobacco to William Lough (Lowe) for the property and it was laid out as 100 acres, more or less, and contained plantation houses, edifices, buildings, fences, orchards, gardens, pastures and woods, became known as Lowe’s Lot and lay near the line of the land called The Agreement.
