When William's parents and siblings emigrated to America, he was left in Ireland with Hugh's sister, his aunt Rebecca Lee [This may be either a first and middle name or a first and married surname]. William stayed in Ireland to insure that the family would continue, even if disaster occurred for the rest of the family in America. Two of William's children emigrated to the U.S. in 1842.^S1
