- ↑ Some sites report the birth date as 11 Aug 1697 (including the Find A Grave page cited), but that basis for this date is unknown, since the gravemarker only gives his age in years and no birth record is found. It is certainly possible that he wrote something at some point in his life that provided this information, but if so, it seems never to be identified. Humorously, Source:Jordan, John W. Colonial Families of Philadelphia, p. 2:997 does while miscommunicating his town as "Goshen", instead of Groton, which wasn't his birth place in any event. So, until a credible source can be identified, one must wonder if such reports can be believed? At least one other source gives a different date, i.e., Source:White, Almira Larkin. White Family Quarterly, Vol. 3, p. 129, which says he was born 13 Dec 1697, but no basis for that date is given or known, either. Perhaps this is a mis-transcription of Source:Prescott, William. Prescott Memorial, or, A Genealogical Memoir of the Prescott Families in America, p. 48, which gives 31 Dec 1697, but this last date is so similar to the date given for his wife Susanna, 31 Dec 1691, one must suspect an editing error unless the basis were known, which it is not.
