William D. Laughner, age 88, of Lafayette, passed away at 4:25 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his residence.
Born on June 21, 1929 in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Virgil G. Laughner and Elizabeth (Sheets) Laughner. He was a 1948 graduate of Frankfort High School. He honorably served with the Indiana National Guard for 7 years.
He married Marjorie Ann Frazier on February 5, 1955 in Frankfort and she survives. Bill was a tool room foreman for the former Fairfield Manufacturing and retired in 1991 after 39 years.
Bill was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and a member of the Industrial Management Club. He enjoyed wood working and gardening.
Surviving with his wife are his two children; one sister; one brother; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Laughner; four brothers, Charles Laughner, James Laughner, David Laughner and Robert Laughner; and four sisters, Deloris Laughner, Radonna Porter, Kathryn Pitman and Carolyn Yarber.
