1881 census - found a William Kelly (spelt 'Kelley'), baker journeyman, living as a boarder with a family called 'Oram' at 16 Holland St, Brighton, Sussex, England. Head of household=Charles Oram (52), b Preston, Sussex, occupation 'townlab brighton corporation'. Family=wife Susan (41) and children Charles (22, labourer's son), Henry (18, butcher), Fanny (14), Susan (12, scholar), Esther (7,scholar), John (4), George (1). 1891 - Not convincingly found on census. There was a William Kelly, aged 34, lodging in Brighton and working as a general labourer. 1901-not found on census. Have a photo of him in army uniform (not WWI). Was involved in the Boer war (soldier or baker??). |
