W. A. Jackson, born Dec. 7, 1899, died at his home in Converse, June 9. Funeral services were held at the Fellowship Baptist Church, under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home.

He was a lifelong resident of Converse. He is survived by his wife, Viola Sherwood Jackson; four sisters, Jimmie Bowman, Pleasant Hill, Fronie Bowman, Pleasant Hill, Fronie Bailes, Marthaville, Gladys Burkett, Joaquin, Texas, Lizzie Patrick, Converse; and one brother, Varna Jackson of Orange, Tex.

Services were conducted by the Revs. Don Brown, Billy Burkett, and D. Brumley.

Pallbearers were Ellis Anderson, Hubert Helms, E. C. McWhorter, David Eubanks, Preston Taylor, E. C. Copeland Jr., Elroe Patrick, and Wesley Etheredge. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery.


According to cemetery transcription, the cemetery at Fellowship Church appears to be called Oakwood Cemetery. And in that record his date of death was 8 Jun 1967 but the above obit has d/o/d/ as 9 Jun 1967.
