William Horton was born in 1873 at Great Wymondley in Hertfordshire, son of a straw plaiter named Hannah Horton, formerly Moles, and her husband Frederick Horton, an agricultural labourer. William appears in the 1881 census living with his parents and siblings at Great Wymondley. It appears that William died as a boy of just eight years old in 1882.
