William Hollinger was a Civil War Orphan.His father Samuel Hollinger died in a Confederate Prison at Richmond Va. in 1865.
He was enrolled in the White Hall Soldier's Orphan School in Camp Hill Pa. He became a graduate of the School on reaching his 16th birthday.
After graduation he became a printer and worked at that profession the remainder of his life.
