Dub was a member of the group from North Side, Ft. Worth w ho dated the Kennedy girls, first dating Dorothy. He and Ch arlotte eventually started dating, married and started hous e keeping in a small apartment. Soon they bought a small ho me and Dub III was born. Dub's father worked at the stockya rds and Dub started his own cattle commission business. H e bought a Cadillac and a big home in the Riverside area o f Ft . Worth. They then had two little girls, Linda and Mar sha and things were going along well. Dub's father W.N. Sr . had a heart attach and died at work one day and then hi s mother had a stroke when Marsha was very small. Dub was p utting on his boots before going to workand had a small str oke cause by a leaking aneurysm. Six weeks later he suffere d another stroke and was hospitalized, had surgery, but nev er recovered. Three years later Charlotte developed breas t cancer and had a mastectomy . A year after that the cance r came back in her lungs and liver and she died leaving W.N . III, Dub, 18years old and Linda and Marsha 8 and 6 yrs. o ld to be cared for by her older sister Ruth with the estat e to be used for the girls upbringing. When Marsha turned 2 1 what was left of the the estate would then be split thre e ways. Dub was a handsome blond cowboy with blue eyes. H e was abou t 6' tall. His picture was once in Holiday Magaz ine. His business was sold as his son Dub III had no intere st in cattle and preferred motors. Both Dub and Charlotte a re buried at White Chapel Cemetery, Ft. Worth, Tarrant coun ty , Texas. |
