DEATH OF SINGLETON RESIDENT. SINGLETON Wednesday.

Mr. William Hayes, of Bulga, passed away on Monday night at his residence. aged 74. Deceased was one of the most popular men in the district and was widely known and respected. The late Mr. Hayes was born in England. Coming to the State when he was seven years of age, the family settled in Bulga, where deceased had Since resided. He was a successful orcharist, growing some of the best citrus fruit in the state. The late Mr. Hayes took an interest in shire government, having been a member of the Patrick plains Shire Council for nine years. He resigned only lately. Deceased leaves a widow, six daughters and one son, Mr. Amos Hayes, who is a shire councillor,- also a well known cricketer and pigeon, shooter. The flag was flown half-mast at the Shire Council Chambers yesterday.
