The Will of William Halstead

"13 (4) 1645. Whereas I William Halsted do find by dayly experience my body to decay. Imp. Unto the poore of the towne five pounds to be laid out in a cow wch I would have so ordered by the Deacons & my executors that may be a continual help to such as are in need, God giueing a blessing thereunto. The remainder of my estate unto brother Henry, & to my sister Edna her child or children - to brother Henry, at the end of two years, except that he dispose of himselfe in marriage, or have a lawfull calling to England by his friends there to the satisfaction of my executors & in case he should go to England of his owne accord then not to have it till they heare certainly of his wellbeing there. And in case he should die before this time be accomplished then my sister Edna her child or children shall have it, And I make william Wood & George Hayward executors.
