Dinmuck (or Dunmuck) was the name of his farm. It is found on Ordnance Survey maps throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Its co-ordinates are 54.91161N- 3.67934W. The size of the farm is unknown. It would have been a tenanted holding. The back of the property stretches up Redbank Hill, one of a small range of hills that separate Colvend and Southwick parish from Kirkbean parish.

William's son Samuel left Dinmuck for Tallowquhairn in Kirkbean, and the family stayed there for at least two generations.

By the 1841 census Dinmuck was being farmed by a family named Wilson (the maiden name of his son John's wife).
