Page 181: Copied from NYG&BS "The Record" April 1922, No. 053, No. 2, pg 181: "A paper found in the old Family Bible, Perth Amboy, states: 'The house now 285 High Street (Perth Amboy, N. J.) was built by William Ford, Junior, his mother Margaret Ford providing the money. The land was bought Feb. 1, 1811, but the house was not built until some time after. William Ford, Jr., married Sarah Ross in 1800-1. They lived in Bonhampton where all the children were born. It is not positively known when the family moved to Perth Amboy, it may have been in 1816, as his mother and wife joined the Presbyterian Church in Perth Amboy that year. This house has been occupied by six generations: etc. *** William Ford, Jr. and three of his sons Samuel, William Jackson and Edwin were shoemakers and the business was continued in the house until the death of William Jackson Ford in 1853.' " Five additional children are listed in the Ford Family Bible Records but they are not listed on this chart. See source record. References
