---------- William E. Floyd, 87, long time Eagle Grove resident, died Sunday evening at the Health Center, Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge. He spent several weeks in the hospital following a fall when his hip was broken and later was moved to the health center.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James Rogers; three grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Oscar Dickson of Pine City, Minn.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday in the First Methodist church with the Rev. Bernard Olson officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. The Odd Fellows service was conducted at the Sandvig Funeral Home Tuesday evening.
Mr. Floyd was born in Humboldt, Ill. and came to Iowa at the age of 16, and lived on a farm east of Eagle Grove until 1902 when he and Mrs. Floyd moved to Eagle Grove. He was in the masonry and construction work most of his lifetime. He was a member of Golden Links Lodge No. G8, I.O.O.F., Encampment No. 12, Canton Eagle No. l l, and Patriachs Militant. He was awarded his 50 year I.0.0 F. pin in 1965. Mr. Floyd was also a member of the Jaunita Rebekah Lodge.
