From family notes of Patricia Prickett Hickin: "Will Fickle and Nellie Prickett married at the Prickett residence in Rural Retreat and moved to Abingdon where Will was in the hardware business.

"Will's daughter Eleanor and her husband and children lived with Will and Nellier for several years. His granddaughter says that Grandfather Fickle was an ardent Presbyterian, an elder of Central Presbyterian Church in Bristol for 45 years and she remembers he always read a Psalm aloud to the family at the table before breakfast.

"Despite his middle name, Will Fickle was not a Jackson descendant. His father, who had served with 'Stonewall' Jackson in the Civil War, was a great admirer of 'Stonewall’ and named Will in his honor. SOURCE: Mrs. Hickin's tele converstion with J. Williams, 26 Feb 2006."
