Facts and Events
Justice claims he was a “Merchant of London and of a cadet branch of the Dungans of Dublin, ennobled by Queen Elizeabeth”, the son of Thomas Dungan of Lincoln’s Inn and part of a long royal ancestry. However, the parentage of William is unproven. The son of Thomas died in battle in 1645, not in London in 1636. See http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mylines/dungan_royal_myth.htm for a longer explanation. What can be said of William is he was a perfumer and the family resided in the St. Martin’s in the Fields parish in Westminster, Middlesex, England. William never went to the US, but his son Thomas left numerous descendants. References
