James was a veteran of the War of 1812 and claimed bounty lands in Paw Paw, VA. James Estep was the son of Shadrae Estep, who was the son of _____ & Mary Estep, which records were found in Ann Arundel Co., MD.

Three of Billy & Lizzie's children married Blankenships, children of John & Millie Prater Blankenship. Tragedy struck two of their children who were were shot & killed.

He then applied for homestead land in Grassy Fork, Pawpaw, KY, 29 Mar 1858, and received another 100 acres., Grants in County Court Records, Pike Co., KY.
