Research is needed to link this William Davis to the William Davis and Alice Thorpe family. Per book written by William Davis, "Jesus the Crucified Man, the Eternal Son of God, or an Answer to An Anathema or Paper of Excommunication, of John Wats catituled, Point os Doctrine preached Cafferted by William Davis. Wherein the Mystry of Christs Defcention, locarnation and Crucifixion is Unfolded" with a reprint published by Reynier Jansen, Philadelphia, 1700, William Davis came to Pennsylvania in 1681 as a Quaker. He left the Quakers and followed George Keith. He later broke with Keith.

  2. emigrated to Philadelphia 1684 (His account in 1700 stated 1681) ("Jesus the Crucified Man ...)
  3. 1706 applied for membership for the Seventh Day Baptist Church of Newport, Rhode Island but was denied membership. (Fitz Randolph, page 4)
  4. 14 July 1711 - became a 7th Day Baptist - "The Yearly Meeting approved the action of the church, and William Davis became a member of the Westerly Church, in full and regular standing." (Fitz Randolph, page 5)
  5. 1 March 1714 - "William Davis requested a letter of recommendation from the church, in order that he might join one of the Seventh Day Baptist churches in England,...the object of which was to claim his share in a large estate left him by the death of his father, in Wales" (Fitz Randolph, page 5)
  6. By 1745, William Davis moved to Monmouth County, New Jersey. (Fitz Randolph, page 7)

"William Davis was married twice. His first wife was Elisabeth Brisley. By her he had four children ; via., Martha, William, John, and Mary. His second wife was Elisabeth Pavior. By her he had seven children ; vi::., Thomas, Joseph, Lydia, Edward, James, Elisabeth, and William, — the William by his first wife having died." (Fitz Randolph, page 6)
