William Left Everything To Alice. Will Witnessed By His Niece Mary (Cross) Miller. All four sons fought in the Revolutionary War from Sullivan Co, NC (now TN). They fought with Colonel Francis Marion (Swamp Fox). William purchased a tract of land called "Lowe's Range" April 1764 from his brother Benjamin and wife Elizabeth. Alice Cole transferred herproperty rights to her father, William Cole, who died on June 25, 1770 only four months after William. William Cole left his lands including what Alice Cole transferred to him to his own children. This left William Cross' sons landless except for the 50 acre plot known as "Lowe's Range". William Moved from Maryland to Sullivan Co, TN Last Will and Testament of William Cross: William Cross in his perfect senses Desired In the presence of John Foster, Richard Cross, Nehemiah Hicks and Mary Miller, that his Wife Alice Cross should have all his Estate of what nature or kind soever, during her life, and after her Decease the whole should be sold and the money divided among his children.
