William Welty Conklin, son of Wilbur and Lillian (Seibert) Conklin was born in Sterling (Logan County), Colorado on 4 September 1917. He married Rosemary Latta Tripp on 25 April 1942. William graduated from Northwestern University Dental School. In 1948 he was at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where he pioneered technology for tooth transplants. From 1948-1979 he practiced oral surgery in Estes Park, Colorado William died on 29 November 1989 in Estes Park.
