Extract: William Charlesworth of Stockport, Cheshire Gentleman to my housekeeper Sarah Goulden, 19 pounds, 19 shillings To my son John Charlesworth and my friend William Higinbothum, Stockport, Draper, all my real and personal estate chattels and effects to hold Upon the trust following to sell or convert into money such parts as shall be saleable or convertible to pay my debts and funeral expenses to divide the remainder equally amongst all my children as shall be living and the child or children then living of them as shall be then dead, including the child or children of my late daughter Mary Ann Evans, such grandchildren of mine to take only the part to which their respective parents would have been entitled if living provided that if either of the children of my late daughter Mary Evans shall died before me that share shall sink into and form part of the residual trust provided also that if my daughter Elizabeth Cookson shall be living then my trustees invest her share at interest and pay the interest to my daughter Elizabeth Cookson dring her life for her own sole and separate use independently of her husband and on her decease to her child or children who shall be living share and share alike Provided also that if David Cookson her husband in my lifetime or in her lifetime then the share to which she shall be entitled shall be paid to her my daughter Elizabeth Cookson I declare that anything to which each of my daughters or granddaughters shall become entitled under my Will shall be for her own sole and separate use independently of her husband I empower my trustees to apply the interest and income and also all or any part of the capital of the part or share of each minor child in or toward their respective maintenance and education or in procurement of any apprentice fee or otherwise for their respective benefit and advancement during their minority I appoint my son John Charlesworth and the said William Heginbothem to be trustees and Executors of this my Will Signed 30 October 1862, William Charlesworth in the presence of Wim Smith Solt of Stockport, J Walker his Clerk
On 16 May 1864 the Will of William Charlesworth late of Stockport, Cheshire Gentleman deceased was proved by John Charlesworth the son of said deceased and william Hoginbotham the Executors Effects und £2000 No Leaseholds Testator died 26 March 1864
