[edit] Census Returns[edit] Montana Standard, July 30, 1957William Carlyon Taken by Death William Carlyon, 9 W. Center, well known Butte painter, died Monday at a local Hospital. He had been ill only a short time and his death came as a shock to his family and many friends. A native of Ishpeming, Mich., he had resided in Butte for over 55 years. He was a member of the Painters Union. Surviving relatives include his mother, Mrs. Eliza Carlyon; a brother, Howard (Hub) Carlyon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carlyon Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Carlyon; brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hansen, all of Butte; brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peterson, Ronan; an aunt, Mrs. Lida Nicols, and an uncle, Richard Carlyon, both of Ishpeming, and numerous nieces and nephews in Butte, Ronan and Bozeman. Several cousins from Spokane and British Columbia plan to attend the funeral. The remains are in Richards Funeral Home where the Rev. Fred Anstice will conduct services Thursday at 2 p.m. Internment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery. References
