"William was living in Green County, KY when 19 Dec 1797 he signed a power-of-attorney to James Carlile also of Green Co. to obtain money due William from the 1796 estate of John Carlile of Augusta Co. Va (signed by mark) (Green Co. KY Deeds, Bk 1, pg. 204)"

"A payroll of the Jefferson Militia in Kentucky under Capt. John Vertreese, commanded by Gen. George Rogers Clark, listed Wm. Carlile and James Carlile 21 Oct - 24 Nov 1782 (Harding, 170)"

Margaret Harding Carlile married 2nd, ___Butler, had two daughters as named in her 1851 will: Jemima Butler Martin (married James Martin 11 Feb 1812 in Adair Co., KY) and Sally Butler (maried John Redman 10 Aug 1818)."
