Oct 2000 email from Judith Mathred ([email protected]) advised that the parents of William Washington Butler were William H. H. Butler and Julia Burrage. She also provided much data on this family used here. Of note was her comment that Ada Mae Butler was a half-sister to her g-grandfather, Gilbert Henry Butler and they were children of W.W. Butler and Sarah White (obviously, W.W. had another wife. She said that family tradition reported that W.W. and Sarah left Warren Co.,IL (20 miles SW of Galesburg, IL and near other Braucht and Bruner families at Knox and Mercer Counties, IA) where they had moved about 1840 around 1870 and moved to Warren Co., IA, at least before 1874 (in the interim they apparently lived somewhere in S.E. Iowa (I would bet it was around Burlington, IA near other McAllister/Braucht families then).
