Facts and Events
Judith Mathre report mentions that tradition suggests that Sarah was married and widowed prior to marrying W.W. Butler. She said that she and WW Butler arrived in Warren Co., Iowa by 1874 from SE Iowa after leaving Warren Co., IL (watch out for these two Warren Counties). She said Sarah and WW died within days of each other from a flu epidemic and are buried at IOOF Manoah sec. of Indianola, IA cemetery. These and other data were from a family Bible. William and Sarah died (at their home in care of family) of influenza within 5 days of each other, neither realizing the other was ill. THIS IS NOT the Sarah E. White who married Cloid Cortes Braught in Warren Co, Iowa and they died in KS. However, the locations, names, dates, etc. strongly suggest some relationship not yet clear by documents. |
