Will of William Brown
In the Name of God Amen I William Brown of the Co[unty] of Roann in the province of North Caroling being of a p___ and sound Memory but of a weak & frail Body & eaken? to mind that it is appointed for all men to die do [con]stitute & appoint this my last Will & Testament revoking Disannulling all other heretofore made by me.
Impromis [I] give by Body to the ground from where it was first ___ and recommend my Soul into the Hands of almighty God I g___ his most gracious acceptance of it: As to my Burial before it my be neat & decent without popp or pride as to the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named. As to the worldly Estate it hath being the Almightys bl[essed] to bestow upon me I will and devise in manner following
I wil that all my just Debts be justly payd before my Estate distributed.
I give and bequeath to my well beloved Wife [Mar]gret Brown my Improvement where I now live and ___ Household Furniture and my Sheep & my work heifers, nine head of Cattle & my Hogs & my plantation work Tools during here natril Life.
I give and bequeath to my [daugh]ter Charity Robson one Shilling Sterling and that is all [I] give her.
I give & bequeath to my Daughter Hannah __ Shilling Sterling and that is all I shall give her. I gi[ve and beq]ueath to my son William Brown one Cow and this [is all I s]hall give him.
I give & bequeath to my son John __ sorrell Hors[e] and that is all I shall give him.
[I give a]nd bequeath to my son James Brown one hors[e and t]hat is I shall give him.
I give & bequeath [to my] Daughter Constant Wynn one Cow & that is all I [give her].
[I] give & bequeath to my Daughter Susannan B{rown} ___ and that is all I shall give her.
I give & [bequeath to] my Daughter Elizabeth Brown one Cow & _____ __ cow & one __ Lamb and that is all I shall give ___.
I [give] and bequeath to my Granddaughter Margret Brown the daughter of Susannah Brown one heifer Calf & that is all I shall give her.
And the Remainder of my Estate if there be any left I leave to the Disposal of my Wife Margaret Brown.
I do hereby through the Love & good will I bear to my well deposed Friend Henry Strange appoint him with my well beloved [wi]fe Margret Brown as Executor & Executrix of this my [las]t Will & Testament depending on their faithfull Discharge.
