William Brown’s origins have yet to be established. The age given when he died suggests that he was born around 1757.

William’s first confirmed sighting is on 15th November 1784, when he married Elizabeth Constable at Glapthorn in Northamptonshire. They went on to have seven children baptised at Glapthorn between 1785 and 1801.

William was buried at Glapthorn on 4th December 1827. He was said to be seventy years old. Elizabeth survived him by nearly 23 years.
