Elizabeth Constable’s origins have yet to be established. The age given when she died suggests she was born around 1762, whilst she indicated in the 1841 census that she was born in Northamptonshire.

Elizabeth’s first confirmed sighting is on 15th November 1784, when she married William Brown at Glapthorn in Northamptonshire. They went on to have seven children baptised at Glapthorn between 1785 and 1801.

William died in 1827, when he was said to be seventy years old.

The 1841 census finds Elizabeth living with two of her sons in Glapthorn.

Elizabeth died in 1850, being buried on 11th August 1850 at Glapthorn. She was said to be 88 years old. She had outlived William by nearly 23 years.
